Students of IIT Madrashave made a mobile and PC game which is ‘IIM Covid Game’ to raise awareness in people about how to safeguard against the coronavirus and following governmental precautions in people.
Features of this game is it is totally free, browser-based game which can be played on mobiles, tablets, laptops. Language used in this game is total 12 so here English , Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil and Telugu.
After developing this game of the Covid game, then students collected feedback from different people of different reason what is positive point as well as as negative point in it. and they also tried to translated the game to various languages to improve its functionality. Functionality of game is very clear as well as very good for helping people in this pandemic situation and people will be more aware to fight with coronavirus .
This game also supports regional language and also has symbols for those who cannot read and is playable on mobile so it is very beneficial for students also.
How did they create the game?
Those students took a nine-credit elective course called ‘Let’s Play To Learn’ offered timing the January-May 2020 semester ,students were taught game-based learning different technologies and techniques and finally develope free game that can help spread Covid-19 awareness in the society.
Total three core students involved in creating the IITM Covid Game are — Vasudha who pursuing 2nd year in Biotechnology Engineering; NS Keerthi, graduated MTech Biotechnology Engineering and Sivapriya Vellaichamy who pursued Dual Degree B.Tech and M.Tech Civil Engineering in 2018 batch.So these students who develop this project in this covid-19 time so it is very good step for them as well as they inspired to other student of different campus to create unique feature based apps which help others.
